Jean and Johnny by Beverly Cleary (by camicuti97, 12)

"Jean and Johnny -- are they destined for each other, or are they doomed to fail?"

Book Rating: **** four stars (incredible)
Book Subcategory: Young Adult

Briefly tell us what this book is about (without giving away the ending, of course!).

Jean Jarrett is like any other 15-year-old girl: insecure, lacking self-confidence, and on the bottom of the social scale. When the handsome senior Johnny whirls Jean on the dance floor, she is absolutely dumbstruck. She never thought much about boys, with the exception of the singing sensation Kip Laddish she sees on television. Now Johnny's the only boy on her mind. Soon, Jean is doubtful about her and Johnny's relationship and she begins to realize that she likes Johnny a whole lot more than he likes her. This delightful story is about a girl who lacks self-confidence and a boy who has too much fun.
