A visitor, driving into town to visit the famous cupcake shop, opens his car door and steps into he sunlight, shading his eyes to get a good look at the distant Super Hero. "But... how?" he wonders aloud.
For 97 of you, the following is the case: An old woman pushing a shopping cart full of odds and ends and stinky bags replies, "Well, this Super Hero was born with it. From the day she was born, she was different. That means there's no one else like her, and none of us are likely to replace her if something happens. We need her, because no one else can do what she can do."
For 51 of you, the woman responds this way instead: "It was an accident! One day, she was just like everyone else; well, as much as anyone is like anyone else. She had her quirks from the start. But then she got involved and the explosion. When she emerged from the wreckage, she was... different somehow."
To see how the rest of the SuperSmartGirls got their powers, read the graph below!

| Becoming Super |
|
| Look at the tallest bar. 97 people said that they would want to be born with their superpower! |
The Super Hero was still off in the distance, and it was hard to see what was going on. A small group was gathering at the traffic light, standing outside their cars and ignoring the impatient honks of the locals who were used to this sort of sighting. "I can't make it out," said one older man, adjusting his bifocals. "What's going on?"
66 of you have the following Super Power: A woman standing to his side leaned in close to the old man's ear and shouted, "Mind reading. She's got someone -- I can't see who -- locked down, and she's reading their mind. Who knows what she'll find!" The woman stood up againa nd glanced to her other side at a handsome young man with a nice haircut. "I'm glad she's not reading my mind right now..." she whispered. The old man turned to her ruefully and said, "No one has to be a mind reader to see what you're thinking about, young lady." She blushed as the young man inched away.
31 of you have the following Super Power: A little boy tried to run toward the scene, but his mother held him back. "Look at all that stuff flying around over there!" he laughed. "I want to play!" His mother said, "that stuff isn't flying, Sonny! It's that Super Hero, who has turned invisible. That stuff that's flying is just stuff she's throwing around to confuse the criminal." "Cool!" said the boy.
55 of you have other super powers. Read the table below to see what else!

Meanwhile, a different group of people were crowding around a terminal at an internet hot-spot. "Look her up on Wikipedia!" said the twin with glasses to the twin with contact lenses. "I'm on it, I'm on it; get off me so I can type," said the other twin. "Oh, look... this is better than Wikipedia. Here's a news article with an interview by the Super Hero herself!" said the twin with contact lenses. The twin with glasses began to read aloud:
92 of you said the following in your interview: "Well, when it comes right down to it, I just want to make the world a better place. Responsibility? Yeah, I guess it's my responsibility. It's tough because when you're got a power like mine, people expect more from you. They're like, 'oh, if I had that power I would do blah blah blah.' They don't understand that it takes time to fight crime. But yeah, I'll do it. And the local government subsidizes my housing anyway so that I'll stay in the area and fight crime and bad stuff from here. So am I glad that I have my Super Powers? Definitely. Life would be so boring without them -- sorry, I don't know how you do it. And yeah, saving the world is a huge adrenaline rush. But it takes a lot of mental strength not to just do whatever I want and abuse my powers."
51 of responded this way: "Look, I'm not Super Human, not really. I'm just a regular person. I just want to do regular things. I mean, I'm not that great -- I can just DO something other people can do, but that doesn't mean I want to save the world. Life is hard enough as it is. I just want to make my life a little easier. Everyone has to use what they've got to get ahead in life, and I've got this, so I'm using it. That's not evil... maybe a little opportunistic, but what would you rather have me do? Be a slave to humanity? Pretend I can't do what I can do? I wish you all would just let me be myself and stop projecting your fantasies of a caped Super Hero flying around your city arresting criminals. Just get me through lunch period without someone throwing a banana at me and I'm cool. OK?"
The rest of you would respond differently. Check out the pie chart to see!

| Using the Power |
|
| Most of you would use your Super Power to make the world a better place. The next biggest group of you would just use your powers for personal gain... just things that you want. |
Meanwhile, a blind woman holds her husband's hand. "A real live Super Hero! Amazing! I wish I could see... tell me what she looks like!" she asks. He squeezes her hand and says...

On the top of Griena Doon's roof, she and her BFFs watch the scene unfold down the street. One of the girls looks up from her nail polish and says, "hey, isn't there someone else down there?" Haney Bly casually picks up her binoculars and fans her fingernails while she squints through the lenses. "Oh, it's..."
81 of you said: "... her best friend is all. They are always together! So totally glued at the hip!" Haney looked around at her friends. "If I were a Super Girl, my sidekick would be..." she scanned her friends' eager faces. "Definitely Marina," she finished. Marina looked so pleased, Haney wanted to barf. All the other girls shot Marina a glare. Perfect.
For 38 of you, the following happened: "... no one. Do you need glasses? Ugh." Haney sighed. She was so smart and pretty, and all of her friends were so boring. "If I were a Super Girl, I wouldn't have a sidekick either. They'd just get in the way." Marina piped up, "but Haney, I would do anything for you! You know that!" Haney flipped her hair and said, "fine, Marina. You can do my laundry. A Super Girl always has to look hot." The other girls snickered, but Marina just smiled.

| Super Sidekick |
|
| Most girls want their best friend by their side; makes sense! Otherwise, it's no one, or maybe a pet. Very very few would want to keep it in the family, though. Wonder why? |
A young boy with a newscap on his head stands with a bundle of home-made newspapers. He waves a flyer in the air, hand-drawn with markers, and yells, "Just fifty cents! The true identity of our own Super Hero! All the details! Fifty cents!" Most passers-by don't even glance at him, but one optimistic lad gives the young boy a whole dollar. "I just need one, boy," says the optimistic lad. He opens the paper and reads:
"APRIL FOOLS! Our Super Hero is Our Secret!"
The optimistic lad groans, but the young boy has already scampered around the corner.
Most of you SmartGirls would never tell anyone your identity or your powers. Only 20 of you would definitely tell people. Read the graph below to see how other SmartGirls responded.
|
| (Secret) Identity? |
|
| 89 of you would keep your identity totally a secret. The rest of you might tell those you're closest to, but on the whole, you don't want everyone knowing who you are. |
Later, the Super Girl is back in her own identity, hanging out with her two BFFs. They don't know her identity... yet; but the Super Hero hasn't decided yet whether or not she'll tell them. They sit under a tree shaded from the late afternoon sun and pop the heads off dandelions.
"I wouldn't want to be her enemy, that's for sure," says Gwen.
"Who is it, anyway?" wonders Yoba.
The Super Hero perks up. Perhaps this is a way she can test out whether it would be safe to tell her BFFs about her identity. She says, "Maybe it's..."
~ fake people, criminals, and our school enemies. ~ Tylan, because he's a sly ~ anyone who does bad things ~ Louise ~ my boyfriend's exgirlfriend, because she makes my life hard for no apparent reason ~ anything evil that tries taking over the Earth. ~ my sister, because she's so annoying ~ hatred ~ people who toxicate the water ~ people who want to ban books ~ the bully at school so I can learn his secrets and make him stop bullying us ~ a complete mirror of me, only cruel and vicious; because I am my own worst enemy ~ anybody who puts people in pain. ~ Angelica, a mean girl at school ~ someone who is very guarded and thinks my power is an invasion of their privacy AND MORE!
